The Forsaken Maw are more than mere monsters. They are embodiments of the Void, vessels for the primal anger, pain, and suffering woven deep into the fabric of humanity itself. In a way, they are nature’s response to centuries of neglect, despair, and violence—a raw, vengeful force that surfaces when the cries of the world go unheard. Like a wrathful storm or a monstrous tidal wave, the Forsaken Maw rise as an unstoppable tide, not out of malice, but as a relentless expression of the earth’s deepest wounds.

✧ History & Origins ✧

Formed from the darkest reaches of the Void, Forsaken Maw are creatures of nightmare, but there is an ancient power behind their fury. Each creature within the Maw is a symbolic reflection of forgotten traumas, of the scars that humanity has left upon the world. Their howls echo with the despair of entire generations, their forms twisted and unnatural, molded by the very suffering that brought them into existence. They are, in essence, the earth’s own fury—a cosmic reckoning.

But, like all forces of nature, their purpose is complex. The Forsaken Maw do not seek power or conquest; they simply exist as a response, as fierce protectors of a natural order thrown out of balance. In their wake, they leave destruction, but it is not mindless—it is purposeful, a reminder of the cost of neglecting the world and the spirits within it. To encounter the Maw is to witness nature’s grief and rage, manifesting as a final warning and a desperate plea for respect.

The Valkyries see them as a force to be tempered, perhaps even understood. And while the Dreadknights wish to destroy them completely, they, too, know that the Maw is not simply an enemy, but a reflection—a mirror showing the darkest truths of all that has been lost.
